About mrs. biffar
Hello!
Welcome to the Rogers Elementary speech therapy program! My name is Allison Biffar and I am very excited to be the speech therapist here at Rogers for the 2019-2020 school year. I would like to take a moment to introduce myself, as we will be working closely together to support your child both socially and academically.
I was born and raised just down the road in Valmeyer, where I graduated in 2007. I attended Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville and graduated in 2011 with my Bachelors of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. I stayed at SIUE for the graduate program and graduated in 2013 with my Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. Since then, I have been traveling the country with my husband, who was born and raised in Waterloo and is currently active duty in the United States Navy. We have been fortunate to live in many beautiful places, including Charleston, South Carolina and Virginia Beach, Virginia. We have 2 sons, JP (4) and Beau (2), and a shih-tzu named Aubie. I was a speech-language pathologist in the Virginia Beach City Public School district, one of the largest school districts in the commonwealth of Virginia, for three years and I absolutely fell in love with the school setting. After all of our traveling, we realized that there is truly no place like ‘home’ and we are so thrilled to be back in Monroe County to raise our family.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions regarding your child’s speech and language concerns. I truly look at you and I, along with your child’s classroom teacher, as a team. We are all in this together to help our children achieve success!
I am looking forward to working with you this year!
